OUR MISSION

At Drama Hub Sussex, our mission is simple but powerful:
To nurture creativity, build confidence, and empower young people through the transformative power of drama.
We believe drama isn’t just about performance—it’s about expression, connection, and growth. In our sessions, students don’t just learn how to act; they learn how to think creatively, communicate clearly, and collaborate meaningfully.
Whether a child wants to stand in the spotlight, work behind the scenes, or simply have fun and make new friends, they’ll find a place here where they feel safe, supported, and inspired to be themselves.
Why It Matters:
In an age of rising anxiety, screen time, and academic pressure, we believe drama offers something unique:
-
A space to fail safely and grow bravely
-
A platform to find your voice
-
A community that champions individuality
Our approach is inclusive, skills-based, and youth-led. We welcome children and teens of all abilities, backgrounds, and confidence levels—no audition, no pressure, just passion and participation.
Drama Hub Sussex exists to be more than a class.
It’s a creative home. A launchpad. A place where young people don’t just take part—they take ownership.
We don’t just create performers.
We create collaborators, communicators, and confident humans.
Founder of Drama Hub Sussex

Hello, I’m Courtney Troullos, founder of Drama Hub Sussex — and I’ve been passionate about theatre since I was old enough to step onto a stage.
My love for acting and storytelling truly came alive during my school years, when I jumped at every opportunity to perform — from school plays and short films to festivals like The Brighton Fringe and The Great Escape. Those early experiences didn’t just shape my career path — they shaped me.
After graduating from the University of Brighton with a BA (Hons) in Theatre Arts, I began leading workshops, directing youth productions, and teaching drama across Sussex and Surrey. Over the last 10+ years, I’ve had the joy of helping hundreds of young people explore their creativity, build confidence, and find their voice.
Although I trained as an actor, my greatest passion lies in teaching and facilitating — being in the classroom or rehearsal space, supporting young people as they grow in skill, confidence, and self-belief.
I’m a big believer in lifelong learning, and I constantly push myself to grow as a practitioner. I’ve trained in:
-
Voice work with Jeanette Nelson (Head of Voice, National Theatre)
-
Mask and movement with Trestle Arts Base (Emily Grey)
-
Physical comedy with Spymonkey
-
Plus dozens of workshops, seminars, and theatre visits to keep my practice fresh and inspired
I’m proud to be part of the Chichester Festival Theatre’s facilitator pool, and I regularly cover sessions at performing arts schools throughout Sussex and Surrey — bringing new ideas, approaches, and connections back to my students.
My specialties include:
-
LAMDA examination coaching
-
1:1 audition prep for drama school hopefuls
-
Helping students of all abilities discover their strengths — whether they want to perform, direct, or just build confidence
While I personally adore contemporary theatre and have a deep appreciation for Shakespeare, my teaching is always centred on the student. Their voice. Their growth. Their journey.
I hold a current DBS, first aid certificate, chaperone licence, and public liability insurance, ensuring every student is supported in a safe, nurturing environment.
Whether I’m running a warm-up game, guiding a rehearsal, or helping someone through their first monologue, I come to every session with energy, empathy, and a deep belief in what drama can unlock in young people.

Drama changed my life — and now I’m here to help it change theirs.
